PBF Energy Inc reported a smaller-than-expected quarterly loss on Thursday as the refiner benefited from lower costs and a recovery in fuel demand on the back of rapid vaccine rollouts and a pickup in travel in the United States. Shares of the company were up 6.4% at $15.21 in morning trade. Fuel consumption has ticked up in recent months as more people start to drive again following vaccinations and the easing of government-imposed restrictions, particularly in the United States.
