T-Mobile US, Inc., commonly shortened to T-Mobile, is an American wireless network operator. Its largest shareholder is the German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom with a 43% share, with Japanese conglomerate holding company SoftBank Group partially owning the company as well at a 24% share. The remaining 33% share of the company is owned by the public through common stock. Its headquarters are located in Bellevue, Washington, in the Seattle metropolitan area. T-Mobile is the second-largest wireless carrier in the United States, with 98.3 million customers as of the end of Q2 2020. T-Mobile US provides wireless voice and data services in the United States under the T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile brands , and also serves as the host network for many mobile virtual network operators. The company has annual revenues of over $40 billion. In 2015, Consumer Reports named T-Mobile the number one American wireless carrier.

    WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The U.S. Federal Communications Commission said on Thursday it will approve the T-Mobile US deal to buy Ka'ena Corp, the owner of budget service provider Mint Mobile, for up to $1.35 billion. The FCC cited T-Mobile's voluntary agreement to implement a 60-day unlocking period for all Mint Mobile and Ultra Mobile devices activated on the T-Mobile network before and after the closing.

    Washington-based T-Mobile will invest another $500 million between 2027 to 2028 to help Lumos reach 3.5 million homes by the end of the period. T-Mobile will acquire all existing fiber customers of Lumos as part of the deal with EQT's Infrastructure VI fund, which is expected to close in late 2024 or early 2025. Lumos, which provides its fiber internet to 320,000 households, will transition to a wholesale model after the deal with T-Mobile as its main client, owning customer relationships.
